Forrest Voss became a Gold Star sibling after his brother, Captain Tyler Voss, was killed when the KC-135 he was piloting suffered a catastrophic failure over the mountains in Kyrgyzstan May 3, 2013. Compelled by his brother’s service, Forrest too joined the Air Force and is currently stationed in Alaska. With few places fulfilling Forrest’s sense of adventure to the extent Alaska does, he takes every opportunity from biking to ice climbing to explore. Gold Star Peak serves as a place where he can reflect on the memories of his brother, and share those experiences with others.
