Josh Sims was raised in Alaska and joined the US Navy right out of high school.  After serving six years he transitioned out out and began his life as a civilian again.  On October 27, 2017 Josh and his family became a Gold Stars when his brother CW3 Jacob Sims was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Josh loves the outdoors and is passionated about helping other Gold Star families make the cathartic journey up Gold Star Peak.
